Nail Vagapov lives and works in Sterlitamak. In 1990 he graduated from the faculty of industrial art of Sverdlovsk architectural Institute (now – Ural state Academy of architecture and art), twenty years is a member of the Union of artists of Russia, has dozens of national, Russian and foreign (Australia, Argentina, UK, Italy, Mexico, USA, Finland, France, Chile, Japan, etc.) exhibitions.

  And yet, despite the great experience in the Union of artists and many exhibitions of different status, the work of nail was still known to the Ufa audience only for some of his works, participating in the Republican exhibitions and the Triennale of printed graphics "URAL PRINT TRIENNIAL" (graphic sheets Vagapova always successfully passed the qualifying rounds of this project). At the same time outside the Republic and even our country – in the cities of Buffalo (new York, USA), Fresno (California, USA), Pisa (Italy), it is well known as the Russian schedule. Moreover, he is an honorary member of the Academy of arts of Pisa and the Guild of graphics of Fresno. In the 1990s, he was one of the first to break into the international arena: he actively established ties between American and Bashkir artists, negotiated and organized exhibitions in Italy.

  The exhibition, which opened in February in the Small hall of the Union of artists of Belarus in Ufa, was timed to the 55th anniversary of the artist. The small hall contained only a part of nail's works, but the exhibition included sheets made in different years and in different techniques (etching, woodcut, mono-and diotypy, mixed media), so the viewer had the opportunity to get a fairly complete picture of the artist's work.

  "Abstract art" – often the work of Naila Vagapova define this term, bringing together various aspects nefigurativnogo, abstract art. However, in General, his work is not always non-figurative. In his graphic sheets, there are forms of the real world (autumn story with fallen leaves and lost strength, falling asleep a fly in didipio "the Last flight"), and the human figure (the etchings of the series "the goodwill Games"), and outlines of architectural constructions (sheet "Talking about the eternal"). More often stylized, conditional, they are more symbols and signs than the actual subject forms. Nail and does not seek to transfer the subject world – he, charismatic and active in my life position, apparently, is abhorrent statics, captured on the plane, frozen in time objects or shapes. It turns the city bustle and excites the ice drift on the river, concerned about environmental problems and relationships in society. He tries to Express as impulsively as possible his acute emotional perception of the infinitely developing, flying forward and changing world with all its problems. The only difficulty is to be able to convey this very movement and transformation in the plane of the graphic sheet, jumping out at the same time beyond the "stopped moment", which is characterized by traditional realistic art. To overcome this difficulty, as a visual language, he chooses the dynamics of rapid and brittle lines ("Jump", "ice Drift"), unrestrained, irrepressible expression of color bursts ("Urban areas", "First ice"). Its color and graphic improvisation on a particular theme such jazz compositions. And just as in a good jazz improvisation based on drive, he achieves in his works the effect of increasing, unrestrained movement, involving the viewer in the cycle of his own emotions.
